Discover how nature unfolds in the openness of the land and gardens, with tenderness and allowing growing side by side, under the caring shade of a tree, on a delicate petal or the juiciness of wild strawberries.
The land surrounding the Main House and Rose Hall is populated by a variety of trees. Some of them were planted with (human) intention. That is the case of the row of seven majestic ancient olive trees and some nut and fruit trees, mostly hazelnuts, oranges, cherries and lemon trees.
Encouragingly, most trees emerged wildly, setting themselves free in an incredible dance of collaboration, with pine, eucalyptus, and several types of oaks, painting the landscape together. We tend to this living community of trees, bathing in its sweetness and wisdom, in awe of the growth that comes from allowing the coolness of the land to merge with the warmth of the sun.
We keep planting too, so that other generations to come can enjoy the natural beauty and teachings of the land.
The vegetable garden is a living poem, where seeds are held between the cadence of the land’s verse and the fluency of the weather's chorus. Tomatoes blush under the potatoes’ gaze, and cabbages unfurl before the vibrancy of pumpkins, lettuces and herbs.
And in the spaces between, like drops of silence dancing in the wind, petals of colour intertwine, a burst of flowers in total communion, some spontaneous, others called forth by the magic of older hands that have long been in relationship with the earth. The taste of a wild strawberry, the scent of the camellia, the sound of a sprouting leaf, all invite you to connect to your own internal garden.
And what a treat it is to rest in its loving arms.
In the quietness of an autumn evening, sit around the coziness of a firepit, and enjoy the warmth of ritual, transformation or a good sing along with fellow travellers. As night emerges and the embers part, you may witness the simplicity of starry skies. In balance with the element of fire, we are graced by a natural spring.
Our water tank is a living source of life, where water flows in harmony with the pulse of the earth, and helps us care for baby cedar trees. Come be in the contrast of the coolness of the fresh water and the heat of the burning flames.
Where ancient olive trees whisper, wild oaks dance, and the land breathes in harmony - immerse yourself in nature’s embrace, where every leaf, flame, and drop of water tells a story.
